Invitation to the press conference
The members and
supporters of the Socialist Party of
Iran SPI accompanied by other freedom
lovers will stage a 36 hours sit-in to
protest against the crimes the
government commits in Iran. We also
condemn the massacre of prisoners and
the current situation which makes any
kind of protest action and demonstration
dangerous and almost impossible.
A
short historical review :
December 7 1953: The
Iranian students movement was attacked
by the shah‘s police at the yard of the
university of Teheran, three students
were killed. Lindon Janson, the US
president at that time, visited Iran to
back up the puppet king already toppled
by the people.
The student’s
movement reacted and rushed to the
streets, shouting against their
oppressor, and the USA which helped him.
That was why both of them angrily
decided to punish the students. So, the
police of the king ordered to invade the
university and open the fire on the
students. Up to 1979 the students
movement and joint people all over the
world acted continuously against the
shah and imperialism, while they kept
being confronted by a more and more
brutal police.
In 1979, the students
movement, leaded by the worker class and
supported by people upraised seriously
against the monarchist regime and
toppled the shah. But this time again
CIA, England, France and Germany
interfered and changed the Democratic
Revolution to an Islamic Revolution!
This was done to
destroy the socialist movement and to
put another puppet regime on power to
plunder the Iranian resources even
easier.
Eight years ago,
after the students movement was crushed
by the new puppet regime, a new
generation of students moved against the
so called Islamic Republic of Iran, and
again USA and EU interfered to prevent
the Islamic Republic of Iran to be
toppled, planned the sad parody of
reform by electing a mullah called
Khatami as president of Iran.
Since then, the
students are rushing to the streets and
are facing an unbelievable state
brutality which is backed by EU. The
very fierce point of this brutality was
on June and July 2003 and is still
continuing.
We will continue to
fight shoulder by shoulder to the
student’s movement and worker class
against the reactionary puppet regime in
Iran, and meanwhile against any kind of
interferences planned and organized by
imperialism.
