We are not slaves or robots! We are human beings and we demand a world in which we can live as such; a world in which the drive for profit of a tiny minority no longer rules over the lives of millions;
a world in which a handful of rich countries no longer dominate and exploit the overwhelming majority of the world’s nations and people;
a world in which women and men are truly equal and where no woman anywhere must fear violence or abuse at the hands of a man;
a world in which cultural diversity is respected and treated as something that enriches human society;
a world in which war is something that is known only in the history books and violence between people no longer exists;
a world in which the people consciously and voluntarily work together to meet the needs of everyone and to further develop themselves and society as a whole.
Such a society can never come about under the System that is currently ruling world. It can only come about through revolution from below.
It is the power of this vision that enables us to overcome everything which appears to divide us, and to unite to struggle for this future. For more than 100 years May 1st has been the international day of struggle and celebration for all those in the whole world in whose hearts this vision of the future beats. In this regard skin color, gender, nationality, language or age do not play any part. What counts is the understanding that this future, this radically different world, can only be achieved when we achieve together.
There is no other realistic way. Because the future that the rulers and their corrupt System are planning for us is nothing more than a continuation of the nightmare we are already living everyday. We can not wait passively for this revolutionary upheaval to take place. It can only happen if we also fight today against what the rulers and their System are doing to us on a daily basis;
' Against the wars the Big Powers are waging in the Balkans and other regions;
' Against torture, solitary confinement, executions and murder which are perpetrated against political and revolutionary prisoners in Germany and around the world;
' Against rape and all forms of violence aimed at women as well as all forms of oppression of women;
' Against racist hate, discrimination, police terror and fascist violence;
' Against deportation and deportation prisons;
' Against mass unemployment, cuts in wages and social services;
' Against atomic madness, castor transports and capitalism’s plunder of the environment that is endangering the future of all living things;
FIGHT INTERNATIONALLY AGAINST EXPLOITATION AND OPPRESSION!
NO LIBERATION WITHOUT
REVOLUTION!
Stop the Execution of Mumia Abu-Jamal!
End Solitary Confinement and Torture! Free All Political Prisoners!
Against Rape and all Forms of the Oppression of Women!
Fight Racism and Fascist Violence!
' Against the closing of schools and hospitals while at the same time glitzy palaces for the rich and powerful are being built one

after another;
' Against cuts in training programs and university enrollment while at the same time more and more police are being added and ever tougher and more repressive laws are causing the prisons to overflow.
Our struggle will only have a chance of winning if we understand that it is an international struggle. That means among other things supporting all the people around the world who have the same enemy as we do and are fighting against this same System: in Kurdistan and Indonesia, in Peru and the Philippines, in Nepal and Palestine, in Iran and South Korea, in the streets of the USA -- like right now in Cincinnati -- and in the satellite cites in France. In all these places and everywhere else that we look we see the same thing: on the one hand torture and death squads, executions and destroyed villages, growing poverty and hunger, racist exclusion and persecution, and on the other hand the resistance and revolutionary struggle of the masses in their millions.
We especially must support the struggle of the tens of thousands of progressive and revolutionary people around the globe who because of their political views and actions are being held captive in the dungeons of this world -- mistreated, tortured and murdered; like the thousands of political and revolutionary prisoners in Turkey who are currently risking their lives in their hunger strike/death fast against the introduction of the F-type prisons. Or like our brother Mumia Abu-Jamal in the USA, who is directly threatened with execution.
Through all the struggles that we carry out today we can not only defend ourselves against the attacks of the System, but we can also build our unity and organization, our experience and our understanding in preparation for that day when we will put an end to all of this. Because we know that there will be all these things and more without end until we take our fate into our own hands and for all bury the system that produces all this everywhere in the world!
This is what the Revolutionary May 1st Demonstration starting at 1pm from Oranienplatz has stood for the last 13 years ever since the mass rebellion in Kreuzberg in 1987. And that is why every year the rulers launch a campaign in the press to try to denounce and politically isolate it, so that they can split us, forbid the demonstration and when all else fails use their clubs to try to stop it. Up until now they have not succeeded. And we are not planning to let them stop us this year either. That is why we say:
To all outcasts and rebels; to all those who will not accept a life under this people hating system; to all those to whom this system has said it has no place for you; to all those who want to make history, not be its victims: ON MAY 1ST 2001 YOUR PLACE IS WITH US, ORANIENPLATZ, 1 PM!
Revolutionary May 1st-Coalition
