German Police brutality
against Iranian Journalist, Author and Poet Fereidoun Gilani In Hamburg
Last Saturday 15th December at 7:30pm the Iranian journalist, author and poet
Freidoun Gilani was brutally attacked by the German police in front of Burger
King Mönkebergstraße in Hamburg. His right ear is severely damaged according to
the army-(Bundes wehr)-hospital in Hamburg. The lawyer Dr. Heinz Jürgen
Schneider has filed a case against the police.
Two reporters are mentioned as witnesses. Reports of the hospital have been
submitted to the general attorney of Hamburg by the lawyer. Pictures of the

The police attack was a few afters after a demonstration against the notorious §
129a and § 129b which criminalises exile political organisations and activities.
The journalist had earlier protested against the police beating up young people
and tried to prevent further violence.
At the moment there is protest against this violence from the Iranian Writers’
Association (in Exile) and the International Pen Center Section Iran and
Iranians all over the world.
